Fizabelle - Building Organic Search Visibility for a Shopify Period Care Brand

Overview

Fizabelle is a sustainable period care brand offering organic cotton sanitary pads designed around different menstrual flow levels. As a growing Shopify brand in the UAE, Fizabelle needed a stronger SEO foundation and more search-optimized product pages to make its products discoverable when potential customers actively searched for organic and chemical-free sanitary pads. The project focused on establishing the technical fundamentals required for organic growth while improving product page relevance for high-intent commercial searches.

The Challenge

Fizabelle had a differentiated product offering, but its Shopify website was not yet structured to fully communicate that relevance to search engines. The main challenge was not simply attracting more website traffic - it was ensuring that Fizabelle appeared when customers were searching for products such as organic sanitary pads, organic cotton pads, biodegradable pads, and other commercial terms closely related to its product range. Several areas needed to be addressed: technical SEO fundamentals across the Shopify website, search engine accessibility and indexation, product page metadata and on-page relevance, product descriptions that balanced customer information with search intent, internal connections between products and collections, and clearer targeting of the UAE organic period care market.

My Approach

The strategy was built around five interconnected pillars.

Shopify Technical SEO Foundation

  • Indexability audit of key commercial pages
  • Canonical and duplicate URL review
  • Metadata implementation
  • Heading structure optimization
  • Sitemap and robots directives
  • Internal linking strategy
  • Image optimization
  • Structured product information
  • Mobile usability and page experience

Search Intent Mapping

  • Identified high-intent organic sanitary pad keywords
  • Mapped terms to appropriate product, collection, and supporting pages
  • Avoided overlapping keyword targeting
  • Focused on commercial queries indicating product consideration
  • Targeted organic cotton pads, biodegradable pads, and chemical-free searches

Product Page Optimization

  • Clarified who each product was designed for
  • Explained menstrual flow level each product supports
  • Detailed box contents and materials
  • Highlighted comfort and sustainability benefits
  • Differentiated from conventional sanitary pads
  • Positioned Light, Medium, and Heavy Flow Boxes clearly

Product Messaging & Customer Demand

  • Structured messaging around certified organic cotton
  • Emphasized chemical-free materials
  • Highlighted breathable comfort and biodegradable components
  • Addressed sensitive-skin suitability
  • Connected flow-specific protection with customer search intent
  • Helped search engines understand product relevance

Results

  • Gained organic visibility for high-intent searches related to organic sanitary pads in the UAE and GCC market.
  • Began appearing for commercial queries closely connected to Fizabelle's core product offering.
  • Became discoverable by users evaluating organic, biodegradable, and chemical-free period care products.
  • Established a scalable technical and on-page SEO foundation supporting future product range expansion.
  • Created a foundation Fizabelle can build on as it expands its educational content and regional presence.

Key Takeaway

"Technical SEO is the prerequisite for everything else. For a Shopify brand with a differentiated product, the first priority is ensuring search engines can properly access, understand, and index the website before expanding content coverage. The real leverage comes from mapping search intent to the right pages - not every keyword belongs on a product page, and not every page should target broad informational queries. When product messaging is structured around the attributes customers are already searching for, the pages become useful to both search engines and potential buyers simultaneously."
